The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road
Tōkaidō gojūsan tsugi no uchi
In around 1838, Kunisada produced a series of The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road which featured figures of a women in front of landscapes related to the stations of the Tokaido. The background landscapes were largely copied from Hiroshige's Great Tokaido. Both sets of prints are presented here for comparison.
